What type of pen should I use to sign my name?

Use the type of pen that you would normally use to sign your name.   For color, black ink on white paper works best. Make sure area around signature is free from all stray marks (even faint marks will show).

Can I fax the order?

Orders can be faxed to 732-392-5069. Faxed signatures can give less than ideal results.   For best results mail your order.  When faxing remember to: Use a wide tipped pen or marker (as described here); Write your signature as large as possible; Fax the order using a fax machine with highest possible scan resolution. Remember: All faxed orders must be paid by credit card.

How do I send an order by e-mail?

To send an order by e-mail you must include a scanned image of your signature with the e-mail order. Scan your signature in black & white (not color or grayscale) at about 400 dpi. Send the scanned image as a black and white (not color) tiff (.tif) or bitmap (.bmp) file. Remember that your signature font will be only as good as the scanned image you provide.

How will I insert my signature into documents?

Your signature will be saved as a TrueType font. You will insert it into the document by selecting the signature font (just as you do all other fonts such as Times New Roman or Arial) and the pressing the letter S (uppercase S for Signature).

How will my signature be returned to me?

Your signature font file will be returned by email as a mime encoded attachment.  Almost all email programs used today support attachments.  With some programs and services (AOL), there is an option for attachments which must be set in order to receive attachments.  Check with your e-mail program's documentation for more information.  See delivery options for more details.

What programs/computers/operating systems will be able to use my signature?

Any program which supports TrueType fonts should be able to use your signature, regardless of computer type or operating system. Almost all programs for Windows 3.1, 95 and NT as well as for the Apple Macintosh support TrueType Fonts (note that Mac users require a conversion utility - TTConverter). Many other programs written for other systems due as well. Check your program documentation for more information.

What size will my signature be?

Your signature will be scaleable just like any windows TrueType font.   When you select your signature font in your application, just set the size you desire point size you desire (72 would make you signature one inch high).  And since your signature will be a TrueType font, there will be no loss of signature quality as the signature is scaled up or down.

How much disk space will the font take up?

Signature fonts are very small - most are under 5KB (5,000 bytes or 5 kilo bytes).  And like all other fonts, they only are copied to one place on your disk drive, and then can be used from any program.

Do we make fonts of an entire persons handwriting?

We do not make fonts of an entire persons handwriting.  Our SignatureFactory is setup to convert one sample of a persons handwriting per font. We are automated to do so, and this is what allows us to offer such an unbelievably low price.

There are numerous font houses on the net who do make entire fonts of a persons handwriting.  This is highly skilled, and labor intensive work.  To have it done right expect to pay over $100.
